The Wayward Mind Hypnotherapy
Thank you for taking the time to get to know me better. I have been working in the field of behaviour for over 25 years and have always been fascinated with the mind and how it affects peoples' perceptions and actions and ultimately their lives. I have a degree in education that specialises in behaviour, a diploma in CBT (cognitive behaviour therapy), a diploma in Solution Focused Hypnotherapy and have been trained in brief solution focused therapy. I have studied neuroscience, neuro-linguistic programming (NLP), and am a published author on the effects of language on behaviour. I am a former managing director of an award winning company and assistant principal of a large secondary school so I know all too well the pressures at the top. I am used to working with vulnerable children and adults and have an enhanced DBS certificate. I am a member of the professional bodies for hypnotherapy including the Association for Solution Focused Hypnotherapists (AfSFH) and the National Council for Hypnotherapists (NCH).
Throughout my career, I have wanted to get to the route of the problem rather than just dealing with the symptoms; straight to the source, where the best chance of changing behaviour patterns and neural pathways lives. By using language to talk directly to the control centre of the mind, we can bypass the usual barriers that stop you making the changes you want so that you can really take back control of your life.
I am a keen athlete and have been a member of Team GB as part of the pentathlon series for the last three years, winning Gold and Silver in the 2019 European Championships. I am also a former British and European Taekwondo champion and coach of the British Taekwondo team so I am very well versed in sports psychology.
