About Me
My aim is to promote physical and psychological health and wellbeing, and help my clients feel happier and healthier!
As a qualified counsellor and personal trainer, and with a Master's in Sport and Exercise Psychology, my experience and research has shown me the benefits of exercise for not only improving our physical health - protecting us from coronary disease, Type 2 diabetes and some cancers and improving our life expectancy - but also helps us deal with stress, anxiety and depression. Studies even show that exercise increases our cognitive abilities, and definitely has that feel good factor - there's a great feeling of achievement when you've had a good workout, a run, or even a walk.
My studies have also shown me how some people find it difficult to maintain motivation to exercise, or even to start. this can be for many reasons - perceived lack of ability, lack of confidence, body image issues, or just plain boredom to mention a few.
What makes my sessions different is that I work with you to discover your barriers to exercise and help you combat them.. I will be there to support and encourage you every step of the way, and to celebrate your achievements with you on your journey.
I believe that exercise should be enjoyable, not a chore, and that nobody should feel that they're not good enough. With the right support you may be surprised to find out what you can achieve, and how much better you feel for it.
